China Dynasty Experience 15 Days

Day 1 West Coast – Beijing
Depart from the West Coast for Beijing.
Day 2 Arrival in Beijing (D)
Featured and Included: Express VIP service through customs with worry free luggage service, Welcome Dadong Duck dinner
Arrive in Beijing, capital city of China. After arrival, you are met by our Asia Journeys’ local guide and transferred to the Peninsula Hotel 5* or similar. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dadong Duck dinner, the most famous of all Beijing Roast Duck Restaurants. Their chef has won many awards.

Day 3 Beijing (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: Beijing City Planning Museum, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Lunch at the Emperor’s Qianlong’s Kitchen, HuTong Tour, and a Dazhaimen Dinner show

After breakfast, we start your visit to China at the City Planning Museum and stop at the world’s largest public square, Tiananmen Square. Then, proceed to the Forbidden City, the palace home for the Ming and Qing Dynasty Dynasty Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch at Emperor’s Qianlong’s Kitchen which was originally opened in 1738 enjoy a HuTong rickshaw tour through the old city lanes and courtyards of Beijing. This evening enjoy a welcome banquet featuring new Beijing Imperial Style food at The Dazhaimen Dinner Show where staff member dressed in beautiful traditional Manchu clothing serve you in rooms overlooking a beautiful garden.
Day 4 Beijing (AB, L, SD)
Featured Excursions: The Great Wall, Summer Palace, Olympic Site, and Dinner at Commune by the Great Wall

Morning visit to the Summer Palace with a dragon boat ride on Kunming Lake, The Summer Palace is the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. The initial construction of the Summer Palace was started in 1750, commissioned by Emperor Qinglong as a gift for his mother’s birthday. After lunch visit the Great Wall, an astonishing feat of engineering and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Special Dinner at a unique venue, Commune by the Great Wall, a new hotel managed by Kempinski Hotels with a view of the Great Wall.
Day 5 Beijing – Xi’an (AB, L, SD)
Featured Excursions: Photo stop at the Olympic Venues, Temple of Heaven, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Imperial Dumpling Banquet and Tang Dynasty Dinner Opera Show
After breakfast, visit the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors came to pray for good harvests. Later, board a flight to Xian, a historic city, which had been the capital of China for 13 of China’s imperial dynasties. Enjoy an afternoon city tour to the Ancient City Wall and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty. Enjoy an Imperial Dumpling Banquet and Tang Dynasty Dinner opera show, performing the original music and dancing of the Tang Dynasty. Accommodations at Hyatt Hotel 5* or similar.

Day 6 Xi’an (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: Expert guided tour of Terra-Cotta Warriors Museum, Shaanxi Provincial Museum

Today visit one of the great sites of Ancient China, the 7,000 life-size Terra-cotta warriors and horses which guarded China’s first emperor’s burial site for over 2,000 years. After lunch visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum, which holds some of the great treasures of this historic area.
Day 7 Xi’an – Shanghai (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: The Bund and Nanjing Road

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai - “Paris of the Orient”. Upon arrival, your sightseeing features the bustling shopping street Nanjing Road, and The Bund, famous promenade along the Huangpu River. Accommodations at the Regent Shanghai Hotel 5* or similar.
Day 8 Shanghai (AB, L)
Featured Excursions: Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden and Old Shanghai Bazaar
Your sightseeing this morning starts at the Shanghai Museum which houses 120,000 cultural artifacts. The highlights of this exhibit include bronze ware, pottery porcelain ware, paintings and invaluable calligraphy works. After lunch, visit the Yu Garden and Old Shanghai Bazaar After dinner, you will attend a spectacular acrobatic show.

Day 9 Shanghai – Suzhou – Shanghai (AB, L, WD)
Featured Excursions: Garden of the Humble Administrator, the Silk Embroidery Research Institute, Pan Men City Gate and the North Temple Pagoda
After breakfast, enjoy a short scenic ride to Suzhou, a charming city of canals filled with gardens from the Ming and Qing dynasty, some of which have been designated UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. Your sightseeing will include the Garden of the Humble Administrator, the Silk Embroidery Research Institute, Pan Men City Gate and the North Temple Pagoda. Return to Shanghai and enjoy a glass of wine with your western dinner at the hotel.

Day 10 Shanghai – Guilin (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: Fubo Hill and Reed Flute Cave
Transfer to the airport and take a flight to Guilin, world-renowned for its scenic beauty. After arrival, enjoy a city tour to Fubo Hill and the Reed Flute Cave. Accommodation at Lijiang Waterfall Hotel 5* or similar. This hotel has a waterfall show of water cascading from the top to the bottom of the hotel.

Day 11 Guilin – Yangshuo – Guilin (AB, L, SD)
Featured Excursions: Li River, West Street, dinner at the Hotel of Modern Art
In the morning, take a leisurely boat ride along the beautiful Li River to Yangshuo, an ancient and scenic town. This territory has inspired Chinese artists for thousands of years. Along the way, you may even see local villagers along the river in their traditional boats employing cormorants for an unusual way of fishing. Disembark in Yangshuo, where you will have time to browse the bustling West Street and later drive back to Guilin. On the way, enjoy a fusion dinner by one of China’s top chefs at a specially chosen venue, the Hotel of Modern Art. (www.yuzi-paradise.com).

Day 12 Guilin – Hong Kong (AB, L)
Featured Excursions: Elephant Trunk Hill
Spend the morning in Guilin with a city tour which includes Elephant Trunk Hill. Then transfer to the airport for your evening flight to Hong Kong. Check in to your Langham Place Hotel 5* or similar.

Day 13 Hong Kong (AB)
Featured Excursions: Stanley Market, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen’s Floating Community, Victoria Peak
Today we take a half-day sightseeing tour of Stanley Market, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen’s Floating Community and famous Victoria Peak. Rest of the day is free.

Day 14 Hong Kong (AB)
You have the whole day at leisure to interpret the meaning of Hong Kong being “The Shopping Capital of Asia”.
Day 15 Hong Kong – West Coast (AB)
Farewell to Hong Kong. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the USA.
