Imperial Yangtze River Cruise 19 Days

Day 1 West Coast – Beijing
Depart from the West Coast for Beijing.
Day 2 Arrival in Beijing (D)
Arrive in Beijing, capital of China. After arrival, you will be met by our Asia Journeys’ local guide and transferred to The Regent Hotel 5* or similar.
Day 3 Beijing (AB, L, SD)
Featured Excursions: Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Lama Temple HuTong Pedi cab Tour

After breakfast, start your visit to China with a visit to the world’s largest public square, Tiananmen Square. Next we will walk to The Forbidden City, the palace home of the Ming and Qing Dynasty Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, visit the Lama Temple. The Yonghe Lamasery is the largest and best preserved lamasery outside of Tibet. Then take the HuTong tour, a Pedi cab tour through the ancient streets and courtyards of Beijing. This evening enjoy a welcome banquet featuring a traditional Beijing Roast Duck dinner.
Day 4 Beijing (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: The Great Wall, the Summer Palace, Olympic Site

Today’s highlight is an excursion to the Great Wall, an astonishing feat of engineering and one of the World Heritages listed by UNESCO. This afternoon pass by the Olympic Site and visit The Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. The initial construction of the Summer Palace was started in 1750, commissioned by Emperor Qinglong as a gift for his mother’s birthday. Tonight after dinner, enjoy your Acrobatics Show or the amazing show, “Legend of Kung Fu”.
Day 5 Beijing – Xi’an (AB, L, SD)
Featured Excursions: Temple of Heaven, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Imperial Dumpling Banquet and Tang Dynasty Dinner Opera Show
After breakfast, visit the Temple of heaven, After breakfast, visit the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors came to pray for a good harvest. After lunch, board a flight to Xi’an, the historic city, which has been the capital of China for 13 of China’s imperial dynasties. Enjoy an afternoon city tour to the Ancient City Wall and The Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty. Today’s special meals include an Imperial Dumpling Banquet and Tang Dynasty Dinner opera show, which performs the original music and dancing of the Tang Dynasty. Accommodations at the Hyatt Hotel 5* or similar.

Day 6 Xi’an (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: Terra-Cotta Warriors Museum, Shaanxi Provincial Museum

Today we visit one of the great sights of Ancient China, the 7,000 life-size Terra-cotta warriors and horses which guarded the China’s first emperor’s burial site for over 2,000 years. After lunch visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum, which holds some of the great treasures of this historic area.
Day 7 Xi’an – Guilin (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: Fubo Hill and Reed Flute Cave
Transfer to the airport and take the flight to Guilin, world-renowned for its scenic beauty. After arrival, enjoy a city tour to Fubo Hill and the Reed Flute Cave. Accommodation at Lijiang Waterfall Hotel 5* or similar.

Day 8 Guilin – Yangshuo – Guilin (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: Li River, West Street
In the morning, take a leisurely boat ride along the beautiful Li River to Yangshuo, a scenic ancient town. The scenery in this part of China has inspired Chinese artists for thousands of years. Along the way, you may even see local villagers in their traditional boats employing cormorants for an unusual way of fishing. Disembark in Yangshuo, where you will have time to browse bustling West Street. Drive back to Guilin.

Day 9 Guilin – Chongqing – Yangtze River (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: People’s Great Hall, Eling Park and Yangtze River Cruise
Transfer to the airport and take a flight to Chongqing, Visit Eling Park and The People’s Great Hall. Later board your Victoria Cruise ship for a cruise of the awe-inspiring Yangtze. The cruise starts tonight.

Day 10 Cruising the Yangtze River (AB, L, D)
Shore excursion to Fengdu or Shibaozhai. Sail along the Yangtze with its vertical limestone cliffs.
Day 11 Cruising the Yangtze River (AB, L, D)
Enjoy your cruise sailing through Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. Also enjoy an excursion to Daning River Small Gorges or Shennong Stream.
Day 12 Disemark Yichang – Shanghai – Suzhou (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: Dam Site
Morning visit to the Three Gorges Dam site and at 1:30pm disembark Yichang and board an afternoon flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival in Shanghai, transfer to Suzhou, famous for its classical Chinese gardens. Accommodation at Sofitel Suzhou Hotel 5* or similar.
Day 13 Suzhou – Hangzhou (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: The Garden of the Master of the Nets, Hanshan Temple, and Embroidery Institute
After breakfast, visit the Garden of the Master of the Nets, Hanshan Temple and the Embroidery Institute. In the afternoon transfer to Hangzhou, a famous scenic, historical and cultural city. Accommodations at the Sofitel West Lake Hangzhou Hotel 5* or similar.
Day 14 Hangzhou – Wuzhen (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: Boat ride on the West Lake, and Dragon Well Tea Plantation, Wuzhen
Enjoy a boat ride on the famed West Lake. Drive to the 1,000 year old town of Wuzhen, A UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site - The waterside pavilions and the arched bridges, all shrouded in drizzle, make for charming scenes and Wuzhen is famous for the art of making indigo-dyed printed calico. In ancient times, indigo-dyed printed calico was seen in every household in the countryside of Zhejiang Province. Accommodations at the Wuzhen Area 2 Hotel local the best or similar.

Day 15 Wuzhen – Shanghai (AB, L, D)
Featured Excursions: The Bund and Nanjing Road
You will then drive to Shanghai, the amazing multi-cultural metropolis combining East and West cultures. Upon arrival, you will be metby our local guide and visit The Bund and Nanjing Road. Accommodations at the Regent Hotel Shanghai 5* or similar.

Day 16 Shanghai (AB, L)
Featured Excursions: Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden and Old Shanghai Bazaaar
Your sightseeing this morning starts at the Shanghai Museum, which houses 120,000 cultural artifacts. The highlights of this exhibit include bronze ware, pottery porcelain ware, paintings and invaluable calligraphy works. After lunch, visit the Yu Garden and Old Shanghai Bazaar. Accommodations at the Regent Hotel Shanghai 5* or similar.
Day 17 Shanghai – Hong Kong (AB, L, D)
Transfer to airport for your flight to Hong Kong. Upon arrival in Hong Kong, you are met by your local guide and transferred to The Langham Place Hotel 5* or similar.
Day 18 Hong Kong (AB)
Featured Excursions: Stanley Market, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen’s Floating Community, Victoria Peak
Today we take a half-day sightseeing tour of Stanley Market, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen’s Floating Community and famous Victoria Peak. Dinner is own your own tonight.

Day 19 Hong Kong – West Coast (AB)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the USA. Arrive the same day.
